City of Las Vegas Approves Transfer of Green Space to Smith Center

The City of Las Vegas approved ownership transfer of nearly two acres of green space from the Symphony Park development in downtown Las Vegas to the The Smith Center for the Performing Arts during a city council meeting on October 19, 2011. The park, which will complete The Smith Center campus, will be located on the east side of Symphony Park Avenue between Promenade Place and City Parkway.

The Smith Center will own and operate the park and will take responsibility for developing programs for the space. It will open to the public alongside the rest of the cultural complex in a week-long celebration beginning March 10, 2010. Construction of the park is in progress.
