Barry Manilow, Ace Young, Cast Members from Glee, Memphis, and More Set for 2010 Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon

Legendary entertainer and Muscular Dystrophy Association National Chairman Jerry Lewis will headline the 2010 edition of the Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon, which will be broadcast live beginning , Sunday, September 5 at 9pm EDT, and concluding Labor Day, September 6 at 6:30pm EDT. The telethon will originate from the South Point Hotel in Las Vegas.

Entertainment will include performances from American Idol alum David Archuleta, singer/songwriter Barry Manilow, Broadway alum Maureen McGovern, and cast members from the hit television series Glee, in addition to production numbers from Broadway’s Memphis, Rock of Ages, and Million Dollar Quartet.

Telethon co-hosts will include Alison Sweeney, Nancy O’Dell, and Jann Carl, with guest co-hosts including Broadway veteran and Grammy nominee Ace Young; American Idol co-creator and So You Think You Can Dance judge Nigel Lythgoe; actor and comedian Richard Belzer; General Hospital star Brandon Barash; award-winning recording artist Billy Gilman; and actor/comedian John Pinette.

There will also be a special opening number choreographed by Emmy winner Tyce Diorio, and production numbers from the Las Vegas shows Viva Elvis by Cirque du Soleil, Paris by Night, and Vegas! The Show.

Additional telethon participants will include Enrique Iglesias, Lynyrd Skynryd, WAR, John Ondrasik of Five for Fighting, OneRepublic, The Grascals, The Roys, Tony Orlando, Taylor Dayne, Charo, Jack Jones, Carrot Top, Terry Fator, George Wallace, John Pinette, Bob Zany, Jeff Trachta, Norm Crosby, Charlie Callas, Ray Romano, Don Francisco, Patrick Duffy, Ken Howard, Lou Ferrigno, Olympic Gold medalists Bart Conner and Nadia Comaneci, and cast members from TV’s The Doctors.
