Natascha Negro to Star in Title Role of Insurgo’s Medea

Full casting has been announced for Insurgo Theater Movement’s production of the Greek tragedy Medea at the BackStage Theatre on The College of Southern Nevada’s Cheyenne Campus, May 15-30. John Beane will direct.


Presented in a translation by Rex Warner, Euripides’ drama is set in the city of Corinth and tells of the extreme jealousy and revenge of the lovely and powerful Medea, who is betrayed by her husband, Jason.

Natascha Negro will star in the title role, with the cast also including Ernie Curcio (Jason), Chris Mayse (Creon), Joseph Hammond (Aegeus), Heather Chamberlain (The Nurse), Brandon McClenahan (The Messenger), Erik Amblad (The Tutor), and Samuel Craner (Soldier of Jason). Shawn Foresta and Paige Snider as the children of Medea and Jason, while the chorus of Corinthian women will feature Sarah Spraker, Ariana Miner, Stacia Zinkevich, Cynthia Vodovoz, Beon Jenay, Erica Griffin, and Carissa Berge.
