Tony Award-winner Frances Ruffelle attended Phantom–The Las Vegas Spectacular at The Venetian Las Vegas over the weekend. After seeing the show, she caught up with Anthony Crivello, who stars in the musical’s title role.

The two actors previously appeared together in the original Broadway company of Les Miserables, for which Ruffelle won the Tony for Best Featured Actress in a Musical. As previously reported, she will appear in the “Lovely Ladies” sequence of the forthcoming movie version of Les Miserables.

Phantom opened in Las Vegas on June 24, 2006. Based on the classic novel Le Fantôme de L’Opéra by Gaston Leroux, the show features music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, lyrics by Charles Hart (with additional lyrics by Richard Stilgoe), and book by Richard Stilgoe and Webber. It has production design by the late Maria Björnson, lighting by Andrew Bridge, and sound by Martin Levan. Orchestrations are by David Cullen and Webber. As previously announced, the production will close on September 2, 2012 after having run over six years and played nearly 2,700 performances.
