Miranda Lambert, Reba McEntire, Blake Shelton Set for 2012 Academy of Country Music Awards

Broadway veteran and country music superstar Reba McEntire and Blake Shelton will co-host the 47th annual Academy of Country Music Awards, to be held on Sunday, April 1, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.


Kenny Chesney, Jason Aldean, Tim McGraw, Miranda Lambert, Toby Keith, Eric Church and Luke Bryan will be among the performers. Chesney has nine nominations, while Aldean has six.


The Academy has also announced that the Zac Brown Band will host the ACM fan event at the Mandalay Events Center.


In addition, pop music superstar Lionel Richie will host ACM Presents: Lionel Richie and Friends — A Lifetime of Hits, a television special taped the day after the awards and aired later on CBS. Lady Antebellum, Kenny Rogers, Rascal Flatts, and Martina McBride will be among the performers set to appear on the special.


McEntire starred on Broadway in Annie Get Your Gun and in the Carnegie Hall concert production of South Pacific alongside Brian Stokes Mitchell.
