Award-winning author and performer David Cale’s new one-man show Palomino, which will run October 9-November 15, has been added to the Kansas City Repertory Theatre’s 2009-2010 season.

The piece will replace the Rep’s previously announced production of Mary Zimmerman’s M. Proust, which was postponed due to schedule conflicts for star Mary Beth Piel, who is now appearing in the CBS television program The Good Wife.

As reported earlier, the theater will present Tony Award nominee Moises Kaufman’s production of the Stephen Sondheim-James Lapine musical Into the Woods (September 11-October 4); A Christmas Story: The Musical (November 20- December 27); Laura Eason and the Lookingglass Theatre of Chicago’s adaptation of Around The World in 80 Days (January 22-February 14); Nathan Louis Jackson’s drama Broke-Ology (February 19-March 21); William Inge’s classic play Bus Stop (March 12-April 4); and Matt Sax and Eric Rosen’s new work Venice (April 9-May 9).
