Kansas City Repertory Theatre Announces 2012-2013 Season

Kansas City Repertory Theatre has announced the productions set for its 2012-2013 season.

The season will open with Stephen Schwartz and Roger O. Hirson’s Pippin (September 14-October 7), the story of Prince Pippin’s quest to find personal significance. Eric Rosen will direct. Next, Tom Aulino will direct Charles Ludlam’s The Mystery of Irma Vep (October 19-November 18), a gender-bending celebration and satire of horror films starring Mark Robbins and Ron Megee. For the holiday season, Kyle Hatley will direct the Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol (November 16-December 26).

To kick off 2013, KC Rep will present Arthur Miller’s classic story of a down-on-his-luck salesman Death of a Salesman (January 18-February 10). Then, a new work created in partnership with Sojourn Theatre Company and The TEAM about characters to survive in a country where the distance between two people is less than a shout but more than a handshake Waiting for You on the Corner of (13th and Walnut) (February 15-March 17), directed by Michael Rohd. Kyle Hatley will direct Rodgers and Hammerstein’s classic Carousel (March 15-April 7). The season will come to a close with American Buffalo (March 15-April 7) by David Mamet, the story of three small-time crooks, directed by Jerry Genochio.
