WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Since 1995, the OBIE award-winning Wooster Group of New York City has received critical acclaim for its production of Eugene O'Neill's The Emperor Jones. Directed by Elizabeth LeCompte, the production features Kate Valk in the role of Brutus Jones, and long-time company associates Ari Fliakos and Scott Shepherd. The Emperor Jones tells the story of Brutus Jones, self-appointed emperor of a West Indian island, as he flees from both the natives he has exploited and his own haunted past. The Emperor Jones is presented as part of the Live Arts Festival.
