On the bank of the James River in the colony of Virginia in 1712, a slave owner named Willie Lynch allegedly read a letter to teach his methods to slave owners on how to keep black people divided for 300 years. In 1995, this letter is brought to light--is it real, or not? Set in 1995 New Orleans, a group of friends come to terms with their most inner fears, and face each other with some hard questions on a rainy night in the big easy as a serial killer stalks the city.
