The Leopold Group, a new Chicago-based modern dance company, will produce the original musical Green Eyes, an hour-long multi-media fusion of musical theatre, modern dance, folk-pop music, and video. It is the story of the rise and fall of a relationship told by two singers, two dancers, and a five-piece band. The creative team is led by composer/performer Brian Mazzaferri (www.brianmazzaferri.com) and choreographer/director Lizzie Leopold, both Northbrook natives. Mazzaferri holds degrees in musical theatre and philosophy from the University of Michigan and both disciplines greatly influence his music. Leopold, artistic director of the Leopold Group dance company (www.leopoldgroup.org) and a dancer with the Lyric Opera of Chicago, is also a University of Michigan graduate, with a degree in dance.
