SHOW INFORMATION
WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
In the little Ukrainian village of Anatevka, Tevye, a poor dairyman, tries to instill in his five daughters the traditions of his tight-knit Jewish community amid a rapidly changing society of Czarist Russia. Since its Broadway premiere in 1964, Fiddler On The Roof has touched audiences around the world with its humor, warmth and honesty. Its celebration of love, family and tradition cuts across barriers of race, class, nationality and religion, leaving audiences crying tears of laughter, joy and heartbreak. This international sensation was inspired by the stories of Sholom Aleichem and gave the world such unforgettable songs as "If I were a Rich Man," "Matchmaker," "Sunrise, Sunset," "Do You Love Me?," "To Life!," and "Tradition."
