A dozen students from small, prestigious "Ohio Ivy" Fisher College have joined Friends In Deeds, an international semester-in-service project. The three months of service into the safer areas of the Third World were billed as "The Adventure of a Lifetime," but instead these young people find that their efforts are not only exhausting but also unwelcome as they move across the country from project to project. Envoy chronicles a crucial hour when the group discovers themselves far west of where they should be, farther from home than they ever imagined. One student's unscripted choice will determine their collective fate and the deciding student changes from performance to performance.
