The Parenticide Club
Adult Fairytale
by OV295681 on Sunday, Sep 5th, 2010 at 12:51 pmThis play contained almost poetic language, used to express both humorous and ponderous concepts. The actors were afforded a chance to flex their theatrical muscles with roles ranging from overbearing magistrate to literally quacking, waddling duck. And these actors were up to the task! It was a joy to watch and listen to, though the theme was hard to swallow.
RE:Maybe not a 'dark comedy', but worth seeing.
by Fuzzy Killer Duckling on Saturday, Sep 4th, 2010 at 12:55 amCertainly, the subject matter - killing ones parents - is dark, but the direction the show took juxtaposed it in a way that made the show feel light and silly. For those who wish a funny show with great acting, strong word play, and an almost saccharine yet still grim conclusion, this is a show for you. If you were hoping for something a little more black-hearted, this at least is a step in the right direction.
