Go see

Les does a good job showing how racism is so ingrained in our culture that even when people try to be nice theyre racist. The social issues here are interesting and funny. Les could use a little more character work but he has a good story and it will only get better. Go see this show!

Must See

A random chance, being at the right place at the right time, and suddenly one sees a delightful show. A lovely tale of culture shock and overcoming prejudices told in a very personable, very energetic fashion made this one-man autobiographical show entertaining. Les is a wonderfully engaging performer who draws you in and leaves you wanting to see more of his work. A must-see for this Fringe, and any others, if you happen to have the opportunity.

Les is adorable, and has an inherently interesting story to tell. His performance is earnest--almost to a fault. His wide-eyed indignation at the subtle and not-so-subtle slings he suffers at his first meeting with his "in-laws" becomes one-note after a while. The show would be better if he made a little more fun of himself as well as of the offenders. He also could have done a better job of altering his body language and voice when impersonating the clueless near-relatives. Great potential, just needs tweaking.
