Broadway veteran Andrew Weems will star in the Alley Theatre production of Martin McDonagh’s A Behanding in Spokane, to run August 27-September 26, with an official opening on September 1. James Black will direct.

In the play, the mysterious, gun-toting Carmichael (Weems) has been searching for his missing left hand for decades. Enter two bickering lovebirds with a hand to sell, and a hotel clerk with an aversion to gunfire, and we’re set for an uproarious ride of love, hate, desperation and hope.

The cast will also include Sean-Michael Bowles as Toby, Chris Hutchison as Mervyn, and Emily Neves as Marilyn.

The production will feature scenic design by Kevin Rigdon, costume design by Kelly James-Penot, lighting design by Clint Allen, and sound design by Pierre Dupree.

Weems has appeared on Broadway in Inherit the Wind, The Green Bird, and London Assurance. He is also the writer/performer of the solo show Namaste Man, and recently starred in the Alley’s production of Intelligence-Slave, earlier this year.
