A. D. Players opens its 40th Anniversary Season with Horton Foote's The Trip to Bountiful, starring Jeannette Clift George. Relive Horton Foote's endearing drama of an elderly woman's passionate journey home. Sissy Pulley directs. Bountiful, Texas is not on any map. It is swamp to some; a land of dreams to another. Carrie Watts, declining in health, yearns to see her girlhood home once more. When her dependent son and daughter-in-law refuse to let her leave their cramped Houston apartment, one last desperate attempt at escape leads her to revisit a life of memories and realize the destiny of a lifetime. Special performances include the Saturday matinee, September 30 at 2:30pm; and a special captioning and audio description performance, October 1 at 2:30pm.
