James Black, Jeffrey Bean Set for Alley Theatre Production of Agatha Christie’s Black Coffee

Alley Theatre has announced the cast and creative team for its upcoming production of Agatha Christie’s Black Coffee, to be presented July 7-August 5 on the Hubbard Stage as this year’s ExxonMobil Summer Chills presentation, a long-running tradition featuring the resident acting company. Gregory Boyd will direct.

In the play, Poirot cunningly absorbs clues to solve the murder of Sir Claude Amory, an eccentric inventor of a new weapons formula.

The cast will feature James Black (Hercule Poirot), Jeffrey Bean (Dr. Carelli), James Belcher (Sir Claud Amory/Inspector Japp), Paul Hope (Edward Raynor), Chris Hutchison (Dr. Graham), Todd Waite (Captain Arthur Hastings, O.B.E.), Laura E. Campbell (Lucia Amory), David Gorena (Johnson), Josie de Guzman (Barbara Amory), Jennifer Harmon (Miss Caroline Amory), Joe Kirkendall (Tredwell), and Jay Sullivan (Richard Amory).

The design team will include Linda Buchanan (set design), Tricia Barsamian (costume design), Michael Lincoln (lighting design), and Jill BC DuBoff (sound design).
