Much Ado About Nothing is one of Shakespeare's best-loved comedies. As the men of the idyllic Messina return from war, a battle flares up on the romantic front between the confirmed bachelor Benedick and the sharp-tongued Beatrice. Exchanging barbs and verbal fisticuffs, the two are headed for a knockout until their friends conspire to have the match declared a draw. Beatrice and Benedick's contentious relationship is contrasted by the rapturous love Claudio has for the enchanting Hero. When the evil Don John sets about to upset the young lovers' wedding plans, the stage is set for mistaken identities, a devious plan, and (naturally) a happy ending. Karen Ziemba stars as Beatrice, with Dan Snook as Benedick.
There is no performance on Wednesday, September 11.
