WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Written by Eve Sawyer, The Gleam is a playreading of a dark but highly entertaining farce about the rampant corporate takeover of our world. A young landscape painter, Sawyer, has been commissioned by G.E.T.G.O, a massive multi-national corporation to create images "to celebrate the Magic of Nature." Unaware of the corporation's voraciously destructive activities, Eve is flown from the woods to headquarters for the exhibition of her work. But she may not get out again. A refreshing brave piece of work by an author aware of the dangers inherent in corporate support for the arts. Directed by 3 time Tony-award winner Tony Walton.
