The Paper Bag Players present its new show Put On Your Shoes, I've Got News!.
The country's oldest and most esteemed children's theater company is bringing their new show to the John Drew Theatre! This theatrical collage of fantasy, surprises and exciting narratives is all geared to the sensibilities of children. In one piece, "When Winter Stayed Too Long", the wind and the sun get together to chase the winter away. There's a funny kitchen story called "Mama's Cookin"; an adventure of 3 pigeons who take a culinary tour of the city from Van Cortland Park to Coney Island; and the story of a scientist who ends up "Stomping the Swamp" with a trio of friendly alligators. These scenes and songs provide lots of laughs and lots of opportunities for the audience to be part of the fun.
Judith Martin, Artistic Director of the Paper Bag Players, takes her inspiration from her young audiences' everyday events: making a friend, going for a bike ride, shopping at a supermarket and transforms them into a show that leaves children giggling, shouting and feeling absolutely at home in the theater.
