WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
June 6 - June 14: The John Drew Theater in association with MudasMan Productions presents the prophecy of isaiah written and directed by Isaac Klein $10.00 / $8.00 Members General Admission The prophecy of isaiah is a new sociopolitical performance piece that pulls material straight from the headlines and onto the stage. In the tradition of such artists as Moises Kauffman and the Tectonic Theatre Project, the prophecy of isaiah begins with quotes and documentation from the world around us, and weaves it into high drama with an inspiring message about the need for change. The piece is mediated by its writer and director, Isaac Klein, an East Hampton native who adapted the play from a manuscript written by his father Art Klein. the prophecy of isaiah had its world premiere in Catskill, NY in April, 2007 where Mr. Klein Sr. now lives. The piece was revived as part of the launch of Mr. Klein Jr.'s theatre company, MUDasMAN, at the Times Square Arts Center in November of 2007. MUDasMAN productions is a group of multi-disciplinary theatre artists whose mission is to create new and exciting work in the New York area. In November of 2007, MUDasMAN launched their company with a festival of four groundbreaking new works at the Times Square Arts Center in New York City. The members of MUDasMAN strive to continually reinvigorate their collaborative process, in order to create work that is inquisitive, innovative and communal. MUDasMAN is currently developing three new plays by Michael Daniel Anderson; a new installment of Appalling Revelations: The Trials of Niles Kindly; and a new musical by Bridget Regan, Ashley Robinson and Jerzy Gwiazdowski.
