WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Part of Elvis Weekend at the Bay Street Theatre!
Jailhouse Rock stars Elvis Presley and premiered premiered in 1957. The title song of the same name is a popular favorite among Elvis fans. Elvis plays Vince Everett, who is serving jail time for manslaughter. His cellmate, who was a former country singer, introduces him to the record business. Vince decides to enter the business after he gets out of jail but quickly gets disillusioned by the record business. In a quick turn of events, he forms his own label and becomes an overnight sensation. The film was directed by Richard Thorpe.
