The Film Society of Lincoln Center joins forces with Guild Hall to present screenings of several of Judy Garland's best-loved films. In The Wizard of Oz, Dorothy Gale travels over the rainbow--via Metro's whole-cloth, special effects tornado--to revel in Technicolor; to enjoy the Munchkins, Scarecrow, Tin Man, Lion, and Good Witch; to combat the Winged Monkeys, Winkies, and Wicked Witch; and to discover the truths about The Wizard of Oz--and herself. Academy Award winner for Best Song ("Over the Rainbow") and Best Original Score (Herbert Stothart), plus a special juvenile Oscar for Garland.
