RE:Multifacited dance event for the dance/theater/video lover in all of us - 10:28AM on 10/29/2009
LPPs newest project contains all the elements youre used to in a LPP/Julia Rhoads production, including that amazing creativity and wit. An added bonus: its also extremely informative, but not in an "in your face" way. The choreography is wonderful and the project showcases the strong triple threat talents of all the LPP dancers, but an interesting side effect was the way it threw me back to YouTube to learn more about two of the video references: Kate Bush/Wuthering Heights music video and Denis Lavants dance sequence in "Beau Travail." Actually, but that kind of behavior is part of the message in "Punk Yankees." Speaking of the music: the music and sound design for this show is spectacular and, if youre like me, expect to have passages running through your head for days afterwards.
