CASA MAÑANA
About
Casa Mañana was the nation's first permanent theatre designed for the production of musicals-in-the-round. The aluminum, geodesic dome of the building was based on a principle developed by architect R. Buckminster Fuller. The stressed skin dome is 66 feet high and is composed of 575 concave, diamond-shaped aluminum panels joined by gold struts.
Inside the dome, the circular stage centers the auditorium area. The stage is oval, 30 feet by 34 feet, and is surrounded by 1,805 permanent theatre seats.
