Cotton, Kraft, Walton, et al. Join Brad Oscar in Asolo Rep's Barnum

Full casting has been announced for the revival of Barnum, to play Asolo Repertory Theatre, November 12-December 20, with an opening set for November 15. Gordon Greenberg will direct the show, which is a co-production with the Maltz Jupiter Theatre.

The musical, which tells the life story of circus founder Phineas Taylor Barnum, features a score Cy Coleman, book by Mark Bramble, and lyrics by Michael Stewart. The production will be choreographed by Joshua Rhodes, with music direction by Helen Gregory, scenic design by Michael Schweikardt, costume design by Alejo Vietti, and lighting design by Traci Klainer.

Joining previously announced star Brad Oscar in the title role will be Misty Cotton (Chairy Barnum), Kevin Kraft (Ringmaster), Debra Walton (Joyce Heith), Nathaniel Braga (Tom Thumb) and Renee Brna (Jenny Lind). The ensemble will feature Matt Baker, Deana Dys, Jessica Green, Freddie Kimmel, Allie Parker, Jr., Amy Shure, Emily K. Botoroff, Alice Eacho, Dean-Carlo Grant, and William Cortez-Statham.

Oscar was nominated for a Tony Awards for his portrayal of Franz Liebkind in The Producers, and later went on to star in the show as Max Bialystock on Broadway, in London, on tour, and in Las Vegas. His other Broadway credits include Monty Python's Spamalot, Jekyll & Hyde, and Aspects of Love.
