WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Winner of a record 12 Tony Awards including Best Musical, The Producers is based on Mel Brooks' classic 1968 film comedy. Max Bialystock, a down-on-his-luck theatrical producer, teams with meek accountant Leo Bloom to fabricate the perfect scam in which they raise money to produce a play that is sure to bomb on Broadway. The product of their plot? A musical called 'Springtime for Hitler.'
