Written by David Mamet in 1992 in the wake of the Anita Hill-Clarence Thomas hearings, this drama deals with themes of political correctness and the way we communicate--or fail to. A university professor is visited by his female student who comes to his office to talk about her failing grade in his class. As the play unfolds, and through a series of perceptions--(or are they misperceptions?)--she accuses him of inappropriate conduct that puts the two on a collision course as they both take the position they have been terribly wronged. But who is right?
