One of Broadway's longest-running comedies begins in the most unlikely way when three utterly miserable people converge near a bridge in Central Park. Harry has suffered so many setbacks in his life that he's decided to drown himself. However, a college classmate named Milt spots him and saves him. Unlike Harry, Milt is successful and until recently was happily married, but he's fallen in love with a younger woman and wants a divorce. So in his own way, he's just as miserable as Harry. When Milt's wife Ellen appears, we see that she's also miserable, feeling betrayed and unwanted. Then Milt realizes that if he can persuade Harry and Ellen to fall in love with each other, Harry and Ellen can be happy and he'll be free to marry his girlfriend. Milt's attempts to play the matchmaker and Harry and Ellen's natural resistance make LUV one of the funniest comedies of all time!
