The Broward Center presents DanceBrazil in the Au-Rene Theater. Founder and artistic director of DanceBrazil Jelon Vieira, who has worked with prominent companies like Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, is credited as one of the first performers to bring the gravity-defying Brazilian martial art capoeira to the United States. The group will be performing a piece entitled The Ritual about Bahian culture, drawing on the exciting and strong movement forms of capoeira, candoble and samba.

Now Broward Center audiences can enjoy their breathtaking artistry in a performance that elevates capoeira to sheer kinetic poetry.
