WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

When Agnes of God debuted more than twenty years ago, the story of a young nun accused of murdering her own baby was shocking. While the topic may not carry the shock value it once did, the play remains a challenging and rewarding experience for an audience.

On one side is Dr. Livingstone, a psychiatrist who has been called in to
document the case for the court. On the other side is Mother Superior, who
will do whatever she can to protect Agnes and keep her safe. The character
of Dr. Livingstone represents science, reason and disbelief, while Mother
Superior presents an undying commitment to religion, faith and belief.
Caught in the crossfire of these opposing viewpoints is Agnes. On the
surface she seems innocent and naïve, but as we are drawn more into the
play, we realize that her simple-minded faith and devotion are a means of
protecting her inner soul.

Additional matinees on Saturday at 2 pm or 5 pm.
