Broadway favorites Julia Murney (Wicked), Ashley Brown (Mary Poppins), Michael James Scott (Aladdin), and Josh Young (Jesus Christ Superstar) are set to participate in a one-night benefit production of Tony-winning composer Jason Robert Brown's Songs for a New World on January 23 at the Challenger Ballroom, located in the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in Cocoa Beach, Florida. The event will be presented as part of Broadway by the Beach.

Daniel Goldstein will direct the production, a portion of the proceeds from which will be donated to the Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce Arts Fund dedicated to benefit local arts organizations and education programs. The event will feature music direction by Christopher Haberl and musical staging by Lorin Lattaro.

Songs for a New World is described as "a series of songs connected by the theme 'the moment of decision.'" The show's four performers do not play the same characters throughout the show, but have consistently developing character arcs.
