EXCLUSIVE NEWS FLASH: Tina Fey Is Ready For One-Person Show

As previously reported, The Kennedy Center will present the 13th annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor to Emmy Award-winning actress and writer Tina Fey on Tuesday, November 9. The show will be taped for broadcast on November 14 on PBS.

“That Mark Twain is a great American humorist. I hope that one day Hal Holbrook has a one-man show about me. I don’t know if that will happen, but I’d be honored,” Fey told TheaterMania while promoting her new film Megamind, which opens on November 5.

Among the celebrities who will be on hand to salute Fey are Jane Krakowski, Jon Hamm, Jennifer Hudson, Steve Martin, Betty White, Steve Carrell, Tracy Morgan, Amy Poelher Fred Armisen, Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers, and Lorne Michaels.

Fey got her start with the renowned The Second City Improv Group in Chicago, and gained fame as a star of NBC’s Saturday Night Live.. She is currently the star, head writer, and executive producer of NBC’s hit series 30 Rock.
