Caitlin Deerin, George Dvorsky, Channez McQuay et al. Set for Olney’s Annie

Casting has been announced for Olney Theatre’s production of the musical Annie, to be presented November 17-January 2. Mark Waldrop will direct, with musical direction by Christopher Youstra with choreography by Tara Jeanne Vallee.

The musical tells the story of the titular orphan, and her dog Sandy, who are placed in the lap of luxury for a week as a part of a publicity campaign for Oliver Warbucks. However, Annie’s stay turns out to be much more than anyone had bargained for as she works her way into everyone’s hearts and learns a few things for herself. The musical features a book by Thomas Meehan, with music by Charles Strouse and lyrics by Martin Charnin.

The cast will be led byCaitlin Deerin as Annie, George Dvorsky as Daddy Warbucks, and Channez McQuay as Miss Hannigan.

The company will also include Carrie A. Johnson, Bobby Smith, Kylie Cooley, Lily Discepolo, Madeline Heyman, Carolyn Youstra, Sadie Rose Herman, Heidi Kaplan, Rachel Olivia Condliffe, Jacqueline Kempa, Adalia Jimenez, Nia Smith, Sydney Maloney, Collette Youstra, Alan Hoffman, James Konicek, Jason Lott, Rob McQuay, Chris Sizemore, Jenna Sokolowski, Janet Aldrich, Jamie Ogden, Leo Christopher Sheridan, Bligh Voth, John Dellaporta, and Autumn Seavey. The dog Sandy will be alternated by the canines Abby and Tanner.

The production will feature original costume design by Theoni Aldredge, and original set design by Ming Cho Lee, along with lighting design by Charlie Morrison and sound design by G.W. Rodriguez.
