Kennedy Center to Receive $10 Million From David M. Rubenstein

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts announced that its chairman, David M. Rubenstein, is making a $10 million donation over five years.

The gift includes $5 million for the National Symphony Orchestra, $2.5 million for other artistic programming, $1.5 million for education, and $1 million to support events like the Kennedy Center Honors and the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.

Rubenstein (pictured right) is the co-founder and managing director of the Carlyle Group.
