Shakespeare Theatre Company Sets Cast for Ben Jonson’s The Alchemist

Ben Jonson’s The Alchemist will open the 2009-2010 season at the Shakespeare Theatre Company, October 6 – November 22. Michael Kahn will direct the production, his 150th staging for the company.

The 17th century comedy follows three con artists who are scamming a man who’s come to England to avoid the plague. The company features David Manis (Subtle), Michael Milligan (Face), Kate Skinner (Dol Common), Jeff Biehl (Drugger), Nick Cordileone (Dapper), Robert Creighton (Ananias), Kyle Fabel (Surly), Nicole Halmos (Neighbor), Wynn Harmon (Lovewit), Cameron McNary (Neighbor), Alex Morf (Kastril), David Sabin (Sir Epicure Mammon) and Timothy Thomas (Tribulation) along with Felipe Cabezas, Chris Dinolfo, Brit Herring, Rachel Holt and Brian MacDonald.

The creative team includes James Noone (scenic design), Murell Horton (costume design), Peter West (lighting design) and Martin Desjardins (sound design). Composer Adam Wernick will provide original music.
