Signature Theatre will hold a Cold War themed scavenger hunt in conjunction with its current production of Chess. The event, created in association with the International Spy Museum, will be held on Saturday, August 28 from 10am to 1pm and unfold throughout Washington, DC.

The scavenger hunt will require that participating teams decipher clues, rendezvous with contacts and access special code words. Contestants can participate on foot and by public transportation. The grand prize for the winning team will include four tickets to a performance of Chess, four Chess t-shirts, a Chess CD, a signed Chess poster, an International Spy Museum family four pack, and more.

Participating teams must include up to four people (at least one of whom must be 18 years or older). To register, teams must email checkmate@signature-theatre.org by Friday, August 27 at 5pm and include the team name, individual team members’ names, email addresses and telephone numbers. Entries without complete information will not be registered. Once registration is complete, the team will be emailed the first clue to find the location of the sign-in table.

Eric Schaeffer has directed the production of Chess, which is continuing through September 26 at the Signature. David Holcenberg has provided new orchestrations and serves as music director and Karma Camp is choreographer. The show is headlined by Jeremy Kushnier, Euan Morton, and Jill Paice.
