Signature Theatre has announced programming for its annual Target Open House, which will be held on Saturday, July 23 from Noon to 10pm throughout the Signature complex and on the Plaza.

Broadway star Hunter Foster, Signature Artistic Director Eric Schaeffer, and Robert Aubry Davis will be the judges of the previously reported Signature Idol competition, which will be held at 3:45pm in the Max.

Foster will also join composer Matt Conner to discuss their new musical, The Hollow in an event also featuring Joe Meno and Adam Gwon discussing their new musical, The Boy Detective Fails (4:30pm In the Shen).

Songs from both those musicals, along with Hairspray, Brother Russia, and Xanadu — all of which are part of Signature’s new season — will be performed in concert at Noon, 2:30pm, and 5pm in the Max.

There will also be individual concerts from Million Dollar Quartet stars Eddie Clendening (1:15pm in the MAX, 6pm on the Plaza Stage) and Rob Britton Lyons (2:15pm, 7:30pm on the Plaza Stage). Helen Hayes Award-winner will perform along with some of DC’s most fabulous leading ladies (6:30pm in the Ark).

Additional events will include a family cabaret, a dance masterclass, a documentary screening, and a reading and booksigning for Eric Schaeffer and Sarah Valente’s My Signature Story, and more.

The evening will end with the Broadway on the Plaza Concert, at 8:30pm, which will feature the Signature Idol winner alongside Broadway and DC favorites, who will celebrate the music of Broadway and Signature Theatre.
