Synetic Theater Announces 2011-2012 Season

Synetic Theater has announced its 2011-2012 season.

The year for the company will begin with Speak No More, which will be comprised of three Shakespearean tragedies, directed by Paata Tsikurishvili, including Macbeth (September 14 – October 2), Othello (October 19 – November 6), and Romeo And Juliet (November 25 – December 23). Tsikurishvili will also stage a production of Shakespeare’s rollicking comedy The Taming of the Shrew (March 31 – April 22), which will star Irinia Tsikurishvili, and the new play Father of the Soldier, about a young American who goes to war and his father who rejoins the army in order to find his son.

In addition, the company will present New Movements, a celebration of a new generation of physical theater artists. The event will be comprised of Ben Cunis’ Last Tango with Rosie and Genesis Reboot (February 9 – March 4), as well as Light in the Darkness (March 8-25), which, starring Mirenka Cechová and Radim Vizváry, has been conceived and presented by Tantehorse – Physical Theater Company of the Czech Republic and is directed by Petr Bohác.
