Christine Hamel, Ian LeValley, Jeffries Thaiss, et al. Set for Olney’s Trumpery

Casting has been announced for Olney Theatre Center’s production of Trumpery, by Peter Parnell, to play June 9-July 4. Jim Petosa will direct.

The play explores Darwin’s seemingly ethical dilemma over the decision to publish his theory on natural selection. Ian LeValley stars as Darwin, with Christine Hamel as Darwin’s wife, Emma, and Jeffries Thaiss as Alfred Russel Wallace, who is competing with Darwin to have his own theory of natural selection published first.

The cast will also feature Shelley Bolman (Hooker), James Chatham (Georgie), Nick DePinto (Huxley), Hannah Lane Farrell (Annie/Girl), Ari Goldbloom-Helzner (Georgie), and James Slaughter (Owen/Williams/Vicar/Protestor).

The creative team will include James Kronzer (scenic designer), Jeremy W. Foil (scenic designer), Daniel MacLean Wagner (lighting designer), Nicole V. Moody (costume designer), and Elisheba Ittoop (sound designer).
