Kennedy Center to Present Penumbra Theatre’s I Wish You Love, Directed by Lou Bellamy

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts will present the Penumbra Theatre production of Dominic Taylor’s I Wish You Love, to run June 11-19 in the Terrace Theater. Lou Bellamy has directed the piece, which has music direction by Sanford Moore.


The show revisits the life and times of singer Nat “King” Cole, through the lens of his television show and features more than 20 of the songs most associated with him, including “Get Your Kicks on Route 66” and “Let There Be Love.”

The production stars Dennis W. Spears as Cole, along with Kevin D. West as Oliver Moore, Eric Berryman as Jeffrey Prince, and Michael Tezla as Bill Henry.

The creative team includes scenic designer Lance Brockman, costume designer Mathew J. LeFebvre, lighting designer Don Darnutzer, and sound and video designer Martin Gwinup.
