Works by Annie Baker, Young Jean Lee, Tracy Letts, and More Set for Studio Theatre’s 2010-2011 Season

The Studio Theatre has announced its plans for the 2010-2011 season, which will open with Annie Baker’s Circle Mirror Transformation, to run September 8 – October 17.

The theater’s lineup for the coming year also includes Tracy Letts’ Superior Donuts (November 3-December 12), which will be directed by Serge Seiden, and Marcus; or The Secret of Sweet (January 12 – February 20), the final installment in Tarell Alvin McCraney’s The Brother/Sister Play trilogy.

Next spring, the Studio Theatre will produce The Enda Walsh Repertory, which will feature both The Walworth Farce (April 6 -24), starring Ted van Griethuysen, and The New Electric Ballroom (April 13 – May 1). Matt Torney will direct both productions. An additional play to run May 25 – July 3, will be announced at a later date.

The theater’s 2ndStage season will include Young Jean Lee’s Songs of the Dragons Flying to Heaven (October 6 – November 2); Jez Butterworth’s Mojo (December 1-26), directed by Chris Gllu; and the musical Pop! (July 13 – August 7), which focuses on life among the denizens of Andy Warhol’s infamous Factory.

In addition, the theater will present two special events, including Richard Nelson and Colin Chambers’ Tynan (February 16 – March 6), starring Philip Goodwin as Kenneth Tynan; and David Cale’s solo show Palomino (June 15-July 3).
