Shakespeare Theatre Company has announced programming for its 2010-2011 season. All performances will take place in the Harman Center for the Arts, in either the new 775-seat Sidney Harman Hall or the 451-seat Lansburgh Theatre.

The season will open with artistic director Michael Kahn’s staging of Shakespeare’s All’s Well That Ends Well (September 7-October 24). Mary Zimmerman’s production of Candide — newly adapted by the director from Leonard Berstein’s adaptation of the Voltaire’s original — is co-produced by Chicago’s Goodman Theatre, and will play November 30-January 2. That production will be followed by Shakespeare’s Cymbeline (January 18-March 6), to be directed by Rebecca Bayla Taichman.

Patrick Page will star as Shylock in The Merchant of Venice (March 8-April 12), directed by David Muse. Page will also star in Luigi Pirandello’s Enrico IV (Henry IV) (May 17-July 3), directed by Kahn and presented in an adaptation by Tom Stoppard. The season will conclude with Oscar Wilde’s An Ideal Husband (June 21-July 24), directed by Keith Baxter.
