Signature Theatre has announced casting for the Washington D.C. area premiere of Michael John LaChiusa’s musical See What I Wanna See, to play the ARK Theatre, April 7-May 31. Matthew Gardiner will direct, with musical direction by Jon Kalbfleisch.

Based on short works by the Japanese writer Ryunosuke Akutagawa, the show tells three stories: “R Shomon,” “Kesa and Morito,” and “Gloryday,” all of which explore the question, “what is truth?”

The cast will include Rachel Zampelli as Kesa, The Wife, and An Actress; Tom Zemon as Morito, The Husband, and A CPA; Matt Pearson as The Thief and A Reporter; Bobby Smith as The Janitor and A Priest; and Channez McQuay as The Medium and Aunt Monica.

The creative team will include Adam Koch (set), Kathleen Geldard (costumes), and Mark Lanks (lighting).
