Ganymede Arts Announces 2009 Season

Ganymede Arts, formerly the Actors’ Theatre of Washington, has announced the productions in its 2009 season.

The season will open with the world premiere of Gerald Duval’s After the Garden: Edith Beale Live at Reno Sweeney, March 5-29. The production will play at Miss Pixie’s Backroom Palace and star Jeffrey Johnson as Beale, with direction by Rick Hammerly.

In June, Ganymede will commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Stonewall riots through a series of GLBT play readings, including Boys in the Band (June 8), Bent (June 15), Torch Song Trilogy (June 22), Angels in America (June 28), and Some Men (June 29). Ganymede will revisit its all-male production of Christopher Hampton’s Les Liaisons Dangereuses, August 28-October 4. October will also see the GLBT Fall Arts Festival return with 10 days of theater, dance, instrumental, vocal and visual performances (begins October 10).
