Michael Hayden, Michele Hurd, David Turner to Star in STC’s The Dog in the Manger

Full cast and creative team have been announced for The Shakespeare Theatre Company’s production of Lope de Vega’s tragicomedy The Dog in the Manger, translated and adapted by David Johnston, to run February 10-March 29. The production, which will open officially on February 15, will be directed by Jonathan Munby.

The cast will feature Michele Hurd, Michael Hayden, David Turner, John Livingston Rolle, Jonathan Hammond, David Sabin, Wesley Broulik, Julie Craig, Leo Erickson, James Ricks, Joel David Santner, Miriam Silverman, Leigh Wade, Nathan Bennett, Stacy Cabaj, Billy Finn, Dan Lawrence, and Amanda Thickpenny.

The creative team will include Alexander Dodge (sets), Linda Cho (costumes), Matthew Richards (lighting), Richard Martinez (sound and original music), and Daniel Pelzing (choreography).

In related news, the company’s Youth and Family Series will present Chicago’s Redmoon Theatre’s Hunchback, February 13-15, adapted from Victor Hugo’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame. The production will be directed by Leslie Buxbaum Danzig and star Calvin Dutton, Mary Winn Heider, Katie Rose McLaughlin, Alden Moore, Jeremy Sher, Alex Balestrieri, Jay Lawrence, and Leah Urzendowski.
