Three-time T0ny Award winner Hinton Battle returns to Detroit to direct The Marvelous Wonderettes.

A cotton candy-colored non-stop pop musical, the show will take Detroiters to the 1958 Springfield High School prom where they'll meet the Wonderettes, four girls with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts and voices to match. As we learn about their lives and loves, we are treated to the girls performing beautifully arranged renditions of classic 50s songs. After intermission, we are whisked away to the girls' ten-year reunion. The Wonderettes perform again with high-octane and soulful renditions of classic '60s tunes, and we see how their friendships have changed and endured in this captivating new hit!

The Marvelous Wonderettes was originally written by Roger Bean for the Milwaukee Repertory Theater where he created several new musicals utilizing established and lesser-known radio and popular hits.
