Hattie Wilson leads an ensemble cast in The Slave Narratives: A Mighty, Mighty People as they comb through the oral life histories of over 1,000 former slaves whose memories were recorded by journalists from the Federal Writers Project during the 1930's. Dramatic readings will feature Hattie Winston (Becker) Charles Weldon (Gem of the Ocean, Director of the Negro Ensemble Company) and Marlene Weldon (Gem of the Ocean). An ensemble of singers from the Denver community will provide music.
