The upcoming stage musical version of Frozen will have its pre-Broadway tryout at the Buell Theatre in the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. Disney Theatrical Productions will present the show in August 2017, with a planned Broadway engagement to follow in the spring of 2018.

Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez (The Book of Mormon, Avenue Q), who received Oscars for their Frozen tune "Let It Go," will pen the show's full score, with the film's screenwriter and codirector Jennifer Lee penning the book. Peter Darling (Matilda The Musical) will serve as choreographer, with Alex Timbers (The Robber Bridegroom) directing.

The creative team will be made up of Disney stage veterans Bob Crowley (set and costume design), Natasha Katz (lighting design), and Peter Hylenski (sound design). Stephen Oremus will serve as musical director.

Frozen, which tells the story of a princess who sets off to find her estranged sister, won 2014 Oscars for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song. It grossed over $1 billion in worldwide box office revenue. The cast of the film is led by Tony Award winner Idina Menzel as Elsa and Kristen Bell as Anna, alongside Santino Fontana, Jonathan Groff, and Josh Gad.

Official dates, casting, and theater information for the Broadway run have not been officially announced. Frozen is produced by Disney Theatrical Productions, under the direction of Thomas Schumacher.
