Nicholas Sparks’ The Notebook To Become Musical

The Notebook, Nicholas Sparks’ novel about a young couple falling love in the 1940s that became a movie (starring Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams), is being adapted for the stage as a musical, according to a report in The New York Daily News. One Tree Hill actress Bethany Joy Galeotti and record producer Ron Aniello are the team adapting the piece.

The producers plan a workshop production in Wilmington, N.C. in October. A casting notice for the workshop is on the website that has been established for the show. Aniello has previously written music and lyrics for The Lonely, a musical based on a Twilight Zone episode.
